This is the sixth year of the SLAM Rising Stars. That means that there have been five batches of high school superstars that have jumped into the pros or are making a name in the collegiate level. That is why, this year’s events are not only geared to introduce a new batch of high school superstars but also to welcome back the past Rising Stars alums.
Last March 20, SLAM PH held the first-ever SLAM Rising Stars Alum Runs in the BGC Nike Hyper Court. Previous Rising Stars like Juan Gomez De Liano, Associate Head Coach of Team Hype, his brother Javi and new teammate Ricci Rivero came through for a fun pick-up run. They were joined by fellow Rising Star Alums, BJ Andrade, Gian Mamuyac, JD Tungcab, Hubert Cani, LJ Gonzales, Wendell Comboy and Prince Rivero.
The Rising Stars Alums got to get some good runs in with SLAM PH friends and family. They were able to go up against CJ Perez, Abu Tratter, James Canlas, Von Pessumal and Trina Guytingco.
