Tim Cone says he’s “content” to stay in the PBA

PBA - NLEX vs Ginebra - February 12, 2016 - PRT - 1

Tim Cone isn’t going to leave the PBA any time soon.

After writer Roland Lazenby suggested that the New York Knicks tap the Barangay Ginebra coach to teach the NBA team the triangle offense, Cone tweeted out that he was “content” to stay in the PBA, while acknowledging that a move to the NBA would be “fun” and that he’d learn a lot from Knicks president Phil Jackson.

Undeterred, Lazenby continued to tweet out his thought process as to why the hire would make sense:

The Knicks are currently coached by Jeff Hornacek, though in the latter part of the season, Jackson and assistant coach Kurt Rambis have handled teaching triangle offense concepts.

New York finished with a 31-51 record and have not made the Playoffs since Jackson became team president.
