Three Things I Like: adidas Crazy Explosive 2017 Primeknit

I was lucky to be a part of the Titan Trial Runs for the world premiere of the adidas Crazy Explosive 2017 two weeks ago. I’ve been a big fan of the Crazy Explosive line since trying out the 2016 Low version. As soon as I saw the 2017 Primeknit version, in pictures online, I was hooked. I’ve been balling in the Crazy Explosive 2017 for two weeks now. Here are three things I like about the shoe:

1. Full length Boost

I’ve enjoyed playing in Boost cushioning since I tried it out with the Crazy Explosive Low 2016. The set-up for the 2017 version hasn’t changed much. But why fix what ain’t broke?

The cushioning set-up of the Crazy Explosive 2017 works. The Boost in the Crazy Explosive 2017 is chunky in the heel and then tapers a bit lower in the forefoot. The entire midsole is contained by the outsole that extends all the way to the lateral side of the shoe, keeping the Boost contained and stable. This Crazy Explosive 2017 has a great balance of impact protection and responsiveness. It’s a great set-up because any kind of player, from bruising big men to athletic wings will find what they need in the cushioning.

2. One piece, sock-like Primeknit upper

This is my first time playing ball with a knit material. All I can say It can get addictive playing in Primeknit.

At first, it was tough getting my foot in the shoe because the entry point of the Crazy Explosive is quite slim. But it all makes sense once you get your foot in. The fit of the shoe is sublime. It gives that one-to-one feel that makes the Crazy Explosive 2017 practically an extension of your own foot. It hugs your foot and ankle area but it doesn’t feel restrictive because the Primeknit stretches in the right spots. Once you lace them up, your foot is locked in giving you a secure feeling when making your moves on the court.

3. Sleek silhouette

I mean, seriously.

The Crazy Explosive 2017 Primeknit drops on July 26 in Titan and adidas stores.
