The SLAM Rising Stars Classic returns to the court with a fresh new look. After being sidelined for two years, the annual tradition that puts the spotlight on the country’s top high school players is back in a new format.
Since 2014, the SLAM Rising Stars Classic has been selecting elite high school players to compete in the all-star game. The annual event aims to provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills in front of coaches, Rising Stars alumni, stakeholders, and media guests. This year, the high school hoopers will battle it out in a one-day tournament on July 30, 2022 at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong City.
Thirty-two of the best players in the high school division will be split into four teams, with eight players on each team. Elimination games will be played in a race to 30 points format with the four teams facing each other in a single-round robin.
A stepladder format will then determine the two teams that will play in the championship game, which will be played in a race to 50 points. The winner will be crowned as the tournament’s overall champion.
