NLEX acquired JR Quinahan and Larry Fonacier, along with a pair of second-round picks (2017 via Meralco, and 2019 via GlobalPort), with the former having played for Guiao with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, was the latter was on Red Bull under Guiao.
The Road Warriors went through the GlobalPort Batang Pier to serve as a conduit team with sister squads TNT KaTropa and the Meralco Bolts.
NLEX sent out Garvo Lanete to GlobalPort first, in exchange for Quinahan. GlobalPort then traded Lanete to the Meralco Bolts, getting back Jonathan Grey, plus the Bolts’ 2017 second round pick.
GlobalPort then picked up Larry Fonacier from the TNT KaTropa, sending them back TNT’s 2017 first round pick, and Anthony Semerad.
Finally, NLEX got Fonacier, plus GlobalPort’s 2019 second rounder, and Meralco’s 2017 second rounder. In exchange, GlobalPort picked acquired Sean Anthony, and Bradwyn Guinto.
