Three things that happened in the NBA today

1. Kristaps Porzingis plays well to impress his new girl

A few days ago, The Cycle’s Rob Perez together with the help of the internet uncovered the fact that Kristap Porzingis and fitness model Jen Selter have been flirting with each other through likes and emojis on Instagram.

Tonight, Selter put on her social media pages, indications that she was going to be watching the New York Knicks and LA Lakers game live.

Not just live. But courtside.

Which meant that this was a game that was ripe for Kristaps to dominate. Boy, he didn’t disappoint.

Porzingis dropped 37 points, grabbed 11 boards and blocked five shots. He was a difference maker on both ends of the floor for the Knicks. He closed out the Lakers with an incredible layup to give the Knicks a six-point lead with a minute left in OT. He sealed the win with two clutch free-throws

It sure looks like Selter, enjoyed the show Porzingis put on for her.

2. LeBron James toys with the Hawks

It wasn’t just Porzingis putting on a show for the home crowd. LeBron James was also dazzling in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ win over the Atlanta Hawks.

He started out with this wrap-around pass to Cedi Osman.

He topped that pass with a wild behind-the-back pass from way beyond the three-point line to Kyle Korver in the corner.

He finished his show with a humiliating smash over Taurean Prince.

James finished with 25 points and 17 assists.

3. Kawhi Leonard is back

After fully recovering from a quad injury, Kawhi Leonard returned to action today against the Dallas Mavericks. He played a little over 15 minutes as there’s still a minutes restriction on him. But he was productive in his limited playing time dropping 13 points on 50% shooting.

Did an NBA superstar get ejected today?

No, but the Timberwolves superstars sure wish they got ejected. Just to get some rest.

Jimmy Butler and Karl-Anthony Towns both played nearly 50 minutes in today’s overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Naturally, both players were exhausted in the end game.

Tom Thibodeau played only eight players in today’s game and out of those eight, four played 40 minutes or more.

In the end, Joel Embiid and the Sixers dominated in overtime as they just had more energy to pull out the win.
