LOOK: Ricci Rivero announces transfer to UP

The after months of speculation, Ricci Rivero finally breaks his silence and announces on his Twitter his new school.

Rivero will be resuming his collegiate basketball career with the UP Fighting Maroons.

This new development comes a month after he announced his departure from the La Salle Green Archers.

Rivero was hotly-recruited the moment he finalized leaving the Green Archers. UP wasn’t the only school linked to the high-flyint wing. UST and Adamson were the other schools that showed interest in him.

Rivero broke out in Season 80. He helped the Green Archers make it back to the Finals and was clearly the second-best player on the roster next to MVP, Ben Mbala. Rivero averaged 13.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals. He was part of the UAAP Mythical Team for Season 80.

He will bring his smooth slashing game to Diliman starting Season 82. Rivero will have to serve residency and sit out Season 81. For now, the 20-year old will focus on Gilas duties and continue playing for the #23for23 pool in the FilOil Preseason Tournament.
