Last year’s LeBron 14 ‘Agimat’ was a massive success. Which is why Nike Basketball decided to continue the color way in the LeBron Soldier 12 this year.
The sneaker has performance features to help players raise their games. The LeBron Soldier 12 ‘Agimat’ has a simplified strap, a lower collar, and circular knit upper that – according to Nike Senior Footwear designer Jason Petrie – is a “symbol of toughness,” just like the Filipino.
The real appeal of the ‘Agimat’ series comes from the design elements that pay homage to local, Filipino culture. The key element in the shoe is the line “Mula Mandirigma Sa Mandirigma”. This was placed to inspire basketball warriors on court. To celebrate and exemplify the Pinoy spirit ‘from one warrior to another’.
What better way to showcase a Philippine-inspired shoe than by having our National Team rock them in international competition. The Philippine Men and Women’s 3×3 teams will be wearing the LeBron Soldier 12 ‘Agimat’ when they host the best 3×3 players from all over the world in the 2018 FIBA 3×3 World Cup.
Our Filipino and Filipina Warriors will go to battle on June 8 to 12 in the Philippine Arena. Stanley Pringle, RR Pogoy, Troy Rosario and Christian Standhardinger will represent the country in the Men’s Division. Jack Animam, Afril Bernardino, Janine Pontejos and Gemma Miranda will banner the Philippines in the Women’s Division.
