PUMA invites PH artists to join LaMelo Ball mural contest
There’s something otherworldly about LaMelo Ball.
On the court, it manifests through plays like this: catching a loose ball at halfcourt, with his back turned to the basket, LaMelo can instantly grow a pair of eyes on the back of his head and throw a pass to an open teammate for a reverse jam.
It’s not just any pass. It’s a pass with alien-like qualities—the precision unheard of and the velocity unseen before. When the ball passes through LaMelo’s hands and is launched to a friendly target, it breaks the boundaries of time and space. A simple assist is turned into a mind-blowing highlight. A basketball play is an extraterrestrial event.
When he steps off the court, LaMelo sheds the skin of a strange being and becomes something…stranger. He’s got the style of someone from another dimension, a rare soul that’s oddly familiar yet decidedly different.
To celebrate LaMelo’s 1-of-1 phenomenon, PUMA is inviting artists to show their own unique vibe. A mural design contest is being held for Filipino residents who are skilled in creating traditional or digital art.
Participants may submit a maximum of two design entries via their own social media accounts (only one entry can win). Entries should have the hashtags #NotFromHere and #PUMAPH and tags for SLAM Philippines.
Designs will be judged on the following:
Interpretation and Clarity of Theme (30%)
Creativity and Originality (30%)
Visual Impact (30%)
Fan Engagement (10%)
The winning artwork will be recreated on the iconic Tenement court in Taguig. The top prize winner will also get P20,000 in cash, P50,000 worth of PUMA Hoops product, and a LaMelo-signed basketball. Other winners will each get one PUMA Collection.

The contest runs until January 17, 2022. Winners will be announced on the social media pages of SLAM Philippines. Follow @slamonlineph on Instagram and SLAM Philippines on Facebook for more details.
