The PBA quietly approved a minor trade on Friday, as the Kia Sorentos opted for a younger point guard in Eliud Poligrates, sending the NLEX Road Warriors in return Rudy Lingganay.
The sophomore Poligrates, who split time last season between Talk ’N Text and the former- Air21 Express, put up 4.15 points, 1.48 rebounds and 0.7 assists over 12.18 minutes. However, he hasn’t seen a single minute of action this season.
Lingganay on the other hand had been one of the team’s better performers, norming 7.43 points, 2.43 rebounds and 2.43 assists in 19.14 minutes. However, he had been deactivated for their past two games, spending time on the UFAWR2S and Injured/Reserve lists.
The Road Warriors may be looking for a more steady back-up point guard behind Jonas Villanueva. They currently give Pamboy Raymundo and Wynne Arboleda minutes. As for Kia, which hasn’t won since opening day, Poligrates could be the type of player they’re looking for, someone who can play well after getting buried on another team’s bench.
Lingganay was not yet on NLEX’s roster when they played the Alaska Aces, Friday night.
