Gilas keeping the Taiwan core against Australia

After their strong performance in Taiwan, Coach Chot Reyes is rolling with the same core, replacing only two players from the 12 men that he listed against Chinese-Taipei.

He revealed the final 12 he will be fielding against the Australians when they face off on July 2 in the Philippine Arena. JC Ansis of ESPN 5 reported that Carl Bryan Cruz and Baser Amer will be part of the line-up against Australia. The two will replace Jio Jalalon and Allein Maliksi, who suited up against Chinese-Taipei.

The top scorers of the Taiwan game June Mar Fajardo, Jayson Castro, Terrence Romeo and Andray Blatche will be leading the way in the final game of the third window. Joining them are mainstays Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar and Gabe Norwood. RR Pogoy, Matthew Wright and Troy Rosario all played well against Chinese-Taipei and will be part of the roster against Australia.

Gilas faces a tough test against Australia as the team is drastically improved with the arrival of NBA players Matthew Dellavedova and Thon Maker. Both Gilas and Australia are tied at the top spot with four wins and one loss in Group B. The winner of their match-up will take the top seed in the group.
