June Mar Fajardo is simply unstoppable.
The San Miguel Beermen’s big man added another award and another record to his long list of accolades. Fajardo bagged his sixth Best Player of the Conference award, the most by any player in PBA history. He won his latest BPC award in dominating fashion.
Fajardo averaged monster numbers with 22.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game (before the PBA Finals). Because of that he amassed a total of 1,279 points based on voting by press, player and PBA official votes. That’s nearly double than the second place finisher, Fajardo’s teammate, Arwind Santos with 670.
In third place, Barangay Ginebra’s Japeth Aguilar finished with 589 points. Rounding out the top five are GlobalPort Batang Pier’s Stanley Pringle and Blackwater Elite’s JP Erram with 406 and 392 points respectively.
Fajardo won his first BPC for the Philippine Cup back in the 2013-2014 season. He followed that up with two BPCs in the 2014-2015 season in the Philippine Cup and Governor’s Cup. He has now won five straight Philippine Cup BPCs owning the awards for the 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and now the 2017-2018 seasons. Fajardo is also the first player to win four straight MVPs in league history.
