Jones lifts TNT to a Game 1 win

Terrence Jones continues to prove why he’s the leader for the Best Import of the Conference award. He powered the TNT KaTropa to big 109-96 win over the San Miguel Beermen. TNT now takes a 1-0 lead over San Miguel in their best-of-seven Finals series.

Jones put on a show with 41 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and three blocks to lead all players. He got a ton of help from the starters to put the game away. Jayson Castro scored 20 points. Troy Rosario and RR Pogoy added 16 and 13 respectively. Chris McCullough scored 33 points and grabbed 15 boards for San Miguel.

TNT jumped out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back from there. With less than four minutes left in the first, Jones scored on a dunk to tie the game at 19. That sparked an 18-0 run that would put TNT up by 16 after 12 minutes. Jones put up 10 points during that stretch in an impressive offensive show.

After that blast, TNT stayed ahead by double-digits all the way to the final buzzer. Jones continued his onslaught supported by the local starters. TNT shot 47% for the game and drilled 13 triples in the game. The Beermen shot 46% in the game but their outside shot was nowhere to be found. They only hit five treys in the game.
