Chito Narvasa out as PBA Commissioner

The majority of the PBA Board has agreed not to renew the contract of Chito Narvasa. He will not come back next season as the Commissioner of the PBA.

The PBA Commissioner has had his fair shares of controversy since taking on the position in May 2015. Most recently, he was in the middle of a controversial trade involving San Miguel and Kia. During the middle of the issue, he also ended up revealing that a TNT official acting on behalf of the Gilas program submitted the paper of top draft pick Christian Standhardinger. This prompted TNT to issue a strong response against him.

It was reported that seven members of the board voted to oust Narvasa.

Taking his place for the meantime will be OIC Rickie Santos. He will ensure that the league operations will continue until the board decides on a new Commissioner for the league.
