LeBron James played his first game as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. There’s no turning back now.
As amazing it as it was to finally see James wearing purple and gold, it was a rough night for the Lakers as a whole. They allowed the Denver Nuggets to score 30 or more points in the first three quarters of the game. The Nuggets won by 17 points, 124-107.
James started at power forward and logged only 15 minutes in the game. He finished with nine points, three rebounds and three assists. He showcased his passing with a no-look bullet to Brandon Ingram in the opening seconds of the first quarter. James also hit two long balls, a straightaway bomb in the first period and a step-back from the wing in the third.
This is the first of many highlight packages of James wearing a Lakers uni. Get ready.
DeMar DeRozan also made his debut wearing a new uniform tonight. DeRozan rocked the white and black of the San Antonio Spurs for the first time. He played only 18 minutes and finished with seven points, two rebounds and two assists. The Spurs won 104-100 over the Miami Heat.
A few days ago, the Boston Celtics fell to the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina. Playing in front of their home crowd, the Celtics avenged that loss with a 115-112 win. Kyrie Irving dropped 20 points while Jayson Tatum added 16.
The young Bulls core showed promise in their first Preseason game. They got big games from Zach Lavine and Jabari Parker in their 128-116 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Lavine led the Bulls with 21 points and three assists.
The forward duo of the LA Clippers led the way in their 110-91 win over the Sydney Kings. Tobias Harris played 30 minutes and he tallied a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds.
